Once a habit has been successfully inhibited, direction is a tool that can be used to replace the habit with a conscious decision about how to proceed. What are some directions that have worked for you in the past, and do you find that certain directions work better for you in some situations than in others?

It is easy to follow old patterns- as a default setting almost- think of it like a well worn path in the woods- habit clears an area and the mind and body- which are often naturally lazy want to stay with the known even if it is not the best for your health.

It takes courage to change direction- and often it is uncomfortable at first- like a a new pair of shoes. Once broken in-that new path that pair of shoes- gets easier.

Novelty as direction is difficult for me or at least it used to be.

Alexander Technique was new (granted) a long time ago- it required an open mind and body & what was once new is now a familiar direction
